My Story
I've worked hard my entire life, and I deserve to retire and decide what my days look like. But here's the truth I lived for years and never said out loud: I had almost nothing saved. And it wasn't because I didn't try.
Life has a way of reaching into your plans and rearranging everything. Medical bills that insurance didn't cover. Family members who needed help and I wasn't going to say no. A car that didn't ask permission before breaking down. A home that needed repairs on its own schedule. Emergencies that showed up without warning and left with whatever I had set aside.
Every time I built something up, something else came along and knocked it back down. That's not an excuse. That's just what life looks like for most of us.
I did my best. But "my best" kept getting interrupted by real life — and somewhere in the middle of all of it, I stopped planning for retirement because planning felt like a cruel joke. I told myself what a lot of people tell themselves: I still have time. I'll figure it out later. Later came faster than I expected. I remember the moment I sat down and actually looked at my numbers. Really looked. Not a glance, not a guess — I sat down and faced it.
It wasn't good. My savings had been depleted so many times over the years that what was left barely covered a few months of expenses. There was no pension waiting for me. Social Security alone wasn't going to cut it. And the idea of picking up a second job — working more hours on top of the ones I was already giving away — felt like it would break something in me that couldn't be fixed.
I wasn't just behind. I was stuck.
I felt like I had run out of road. Like retirement was something that happened to other people — people who made different choices, had different luck, or came from different circumstances.
I refused to believe I was out of options. So I started looking for ones nobody had shown me.
What I found changed everything.
I discovered that the internet had completely rewritten the rules about who gets to earn money — and how. I learned that people with experience, a story, and something to share were building real income streams without a boss, without a schedule someone else controlled, and without starting from zero every month.
I started small. I was skeptical. I made mistakes. But I kept going — because for the first time in a long time, I was building something that was mine.
I wasn't trading my hours to make someone else rich anymore. I was finally working toward something that would pay me back — on my terms, at my pace, without asking permission.
That is not a small thing. That is freedom I didn't know I was allowed to have. I created the Desire to Retire e-book because what I found is too important to keep to myself. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme. I won't tell you that. What I will tell you is this:
The fear I used to carry — that hollow dread of looking at my future and seeing nothing — that fear is gone. Not because everything is perfect. But because I have a plan now. I have a path. And I built it myself, with nothing but time, consistency, and the desire to make my life on my own terms.
You can too. I know that sounds like something people say. I'm telling you because I lived it.
So let me ask you directly — because I'm not interested in sugarcoating anything:
Do you think you still have more time to plan? Do you feel like you're out of options?
The time is not someday. The time is not next month. The time is right now!
